Unfortunate Outfits at the 2025 Grammys: Fashion Misses and Bold Choices

 We saw far too many unfortunate outfits at the 2025 Grammys, largely because numerous musicians and celebrities played the tired, predictable game of grabbing attention at any cost—mainly through excessive nudity—rather than with true style.

That’s not to say that a well-placed sheer panel or daring cutout can’t be stylish. History has given us plenty of examples to prove otherwise—perhaps none more iconic than Rihanna’s dazzling naked dress at the Council of Fashion Designers of America Fashion Awards at Lincoln Center in New York. That moment was proof that even the boldest fashion choices can be executed with sophistication.

But today, it feels like nudity itself has become the goal. And, without any false modesty, if that’s the only statement a look is making, then maybe it isn’t really saying much at all.

That being said, no roundup of unfortunate outfits at the 2025 Grammys would be complete without starting with Bianca Censori, Kanye West’s wife, whose personal style has become synonymous with nudity for the sake of nudity—or attention. This time, she may have worn her most revealing look yet, which says a lot considering her usual fashion choices.

Is Bianca a stunning woman? Absolutely. But is her constant need to bare it all on every red carpet getting a bit exhausting? Also yes. At this point, it’s lost any shock value—because how many times can you be surprised by the same thing?

Without being as exposed, but still lacking any notable style expertise, Chrissy Teigen in her sheer dress, Paris Hilton in a plain gown accessorized with sunglasses, and Olivia Rodrigo in a cut-out dress that seemed ill-fitted for her body, also make their way into the unfortunate outfits list at the 2025 Grammys.

Joining this group are Shakira and Cardi B. Their more classic dresses felt a bit underwhelming, even though Cardi B’s Roberto Cavalli runway piece would have undoubtedly looked better on someone else. Sheryl Crow didn’t make a better choice either, despite the fact that we would have expected more from a seasoned veteran of the awards and red carpets.
