Pregnant’ Star Whitney Purvis Loses Son at 16

Whitney Purvis and Weston Gosa Sr. welcomed their son, Weston Jr., in April 2009 during the first season of MTV’s “16 and Pregnant.”

On Monday, June 2, Whitney announced the devastating loss of her 16-year-old son. The family is seeking an autopsy to determine the cause of his unexpected death.

In an emotional Facebook post, Whitney expressed her profound grief: “My beautiful son, Weston has passed away. He was only 16 years old. Life is so cruel and unfair. I just don’t understand how my baby is gone.”

She continued, “I love you so much, Weston Owen Gosa. You are my heart. I was so proud of the young man you were becoming. Rest in Peace, my angel.”

Weston’s stepmother provided additional details about his death: “We woke up around 7 am and found him not breathing. We attempted CPR and called an ambulance, but he was pronounced dead at the hospital.”

She added, “He had several health issues, including diabetes. Losing a child is the most painful experience imaginable. He was brilliant, smart, funny, and had so much potential.”

Whitney and Weston Sr. originally met during “16 and Pregnant” and had an on-and-off relationship. They welcomed a second son, River, in 2014 before separating again. Whitney subsequently lost custody of both children.

In a related development, Whitney was arrested in 2024 for allegedly failing to make child support payments.
